Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support to medical providers and ensuring exceptional patient care across various clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to manage administrative tasks efficiently. Duties Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Support physicians with clinical tasks such as administering medications, performing basic laboratory tests, and handling specimen collection. Operate and maintain medical equipment, including X-ray machines and other diagnostic tools. Document patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with precision and confidentiality. Assist with ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and record keeping. Support inpatient and outpatient care teams, including those working in emergency medicine, Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers. Provide medical-surgical assistance in various specialties such as internal medicine or hospital medicine. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures and medication administration guidelines. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient service. Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; previous experience in dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diverse clinical settings. Experience working within hospital environments or Level I/II trauma centers is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in ICD coding is essential. Prior experience supporting outpatient clinics or specialized units such as Geriatrics or PICU enhances candidacy. Knowledge of X-ray operation and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care activities. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
