Medical Assistant

Job Overview North Florida Surgeons Beaches is seeking full-time Medical Assistant. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing patients and ensuring that they have a positive experience during their office visit. This position will rotate between two facilities if needed. Our office is located at 1370 13th Ave S Suite 116 Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for evaluation and management by reviewing pertinent patient information including patient medication on each visit.
• Answering telephones, taking messages, returning calls to patients
• Prescription management
• Chart preparation, responding to referral requests.
• Takes patient histories and vital signs and documents into EMR system.
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment/supplies for each patient's visit.
• Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
• Assists physicians and physician assistants
• Ensuring that patients have all tests/studies/documentation completed before seeing the medical provider.
• Work is of high demand, walking and standing.
• Casting and splinting
• Removing sutures, staples, drain Skills
• Must be willing and able to work assigned work schedule to specific physician clinics (general and colorectal surgery).
• High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred Minimum of one year work experience medical office environment.

ATHENA EMR

experience preferred.

• Previous medical office experience.
• Computer skills for accurate data entry.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Professionalism, good work ethic and engaging team member

Pay:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
