Our centers of excellence include Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baptist Heart Hospital, Baptist Neurological Institute and Wolfson Children's Hospital. •$1,000 Sign on Bonus•Baptist Health is seeking to add an energetic and dynamic Medical Assistant (MA) for our Baptist MD Anderson Medical Oncology Clinic, located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time opportunity with a 40 hour a week commitment and will primarily support the South campus but may be asked to travel to the other campuses as needed. A Medical Assistant in a medical oncology clinic plays a key role in supporting both patients and providers throughout the cancer care journey. On a daily basis, they room patients, obtain vital signs, update medical histories, reconcile medications, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments. They assist with coordinating care by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, processing prior authorizations, and communicating with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. Medical Assistants also help maintain accurate medical records, support clinic workflow, and provide compassionate assistance to patients and families navigating oncology care. Responsibilities of a Medical Assistant include: Providing nursing assistance to the physician and APP Obtaining vital signs, weights, and heights Greeting and chaperoning patients as needed during medical visits Documenting in the medical record as indicated per role Additional responsibilities on an as needed basis
Education & Credential Requirements:
