Job description Job description Advanced Women's Health Specialists has earned a reputation for superior Women's Healthcare. We are looking for a positive outgoing Medical Assistant for a full-time position in our busy practice. We are committed to providing quality medical services, including family planning, pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care, well-woman health maintenance, gynecological surgery, menopause related care and other obstetric and gynecological services. Flexible hours are required and must be willing to travel to our locations as needed for schedule coverage (Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs and Deltona).
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Ensuring that all pertinent notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are available to the physician prior to patient arrival. Verify that the patient's record is up to date and accurate. Follow direction of the Clinical Supervisor / Providers Order lab tests and ensure in house labs have correct specimens and orders. Obtain patient vitals and initiate patient visit notes. Knowledge of GYN procedures / assist in procedures. Working knowledge of ICD-10 coding Maintaining, cleaning, and stocking the nurse station and exam rooms.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Reports to work regularly without undue tardiness. Dresses appropriately and professionally. Completes work accurately and in a timely manner. Excellent oral, written and telephone communication skills, along with tact, diplomacy, and strong customer service orientation. Prioritizes work activities and receives and assumes multiple job duties. Bilingual a plus. Travel to all office locations. Lake Mary, Deltona and Altamonte.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduate of formal program in Medical Assisting, accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Two (2) years experience in a medical office setting (OB/GYN experience preferred). Knowledge of regulations that govern medical offices including HIPAA and OSHA Medical terminology written and verbal Athena EMR experience preferred
