Job Description

The Medical Assistant will perform administrative and clinical duties assigned to all patients. As a member of a care team, support goal achievement, organizational quality, and patient-centered care. Incorporate core organizational values of quality, respect, integrity, partnership, and compassion in all activities and decisions. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position. Monitor program requirements for UDS and distribute urine results. Complete SAL's and urine paperwork with an accuracy rate of at least 97%. Provide direct client care as needed. Provide medical support to clients, including vital signs and blood draws. Assist with checking in with new clients and providing new client orientation. Assist with admission and discharge functions, including client inventory. Provide administrative support, including answering phones and collecting information for client intake, scheduling appointments, submitting reports, distributing mail, and ordering supplies. Maintain client and/or administrative files. Work in the electronic health records system, entering general notes and charting client information.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED). Completed a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution; holds current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials, plus Phlebotomy certification. Must be able to read, write, comprehend verbal and written instructions, file, and use office machines. Ability to communicate effectively with, provide information to, and respond to questions from employees, clients, visitors, and all outside providers. Minimum of (1-2) years' experience in an MA role. Computer proficient in MS Word, Excel, and in entering data into an electronic health record. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT
General climate-controlled health care setting. Requires flexibility between desk and patient areas to perform duties. Interface with patients in an outpatient or methadone clinic environment. Fast paced. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills. Team approach.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Abilities include reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and staying calm under stress. Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities required include close-up, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds alone.
