Our mission is to improve access to quality healthcare while supporting continuity of care for vulnerable populations. Job Overview Florida Community Health Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations, including correctional facilities, FCHP Cares clinic locations, community outreach sites, and mobile health services. The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care, diagnostic testing, documentation, and operational support while ensuring professional representation of the organization in various healthcare environments. This role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to support both clinic-based and correctional healthcare services. Responsibilities Clinical Duties Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight. Document patient medical history and update electronic medical records (EMR). Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses during patient examinations and procedures. Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and in accordance with state regulations. Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection (blood, urine, swabs, and other diagnostic samples). Prepare and process laboratory specimens for transport to reference laboratories. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions. Correctional Facility Support Provide clinical support within correctional facilities partnering with FCHP. Assist providers with patient intake, screenings, and diagnostic testing. Follow all facility security procedures and protocols while providing care. Support continuity of care and coordination for incarcerated patients receiving services. Clinic & Community Services Support patient visits, follow-ups, and routine clinical services at clinic sites. Assist with community outreach events, health screenings, and mobile health services when scheduled. Provide patient education and assist providers with care coordination as directed. Administrative Duties Schedule patient appointments and assist with clinic workflow coordination. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and assist with restocking as needed. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control, and safety standards. Communicate patient concerns or urgent matters to the appropriate clinical staff. Assist with documentation and operational tasks as assigned by clinical leadership. Qualifications Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred Experience in correctional healthcare, infectious disease, or community outreach preferred Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to different clinical environments and work with diverse patient populations Requirements Ability to travel frequently to correctional facilities in the area Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background screening and facility credentialing Comfortable working in correctional healthcare environments Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs when necessary Work Schedule Monday - Friday Hours may vary depending on clinic schedules, correctional facility access, and outreach events. Some weekend travel as scheduled

$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
