Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Medical Assistant for a direct hire opportunity in the Largo, FL area! This resource will work with the Clinic Supervisor to provide routine patient care and functions. The MA organizes the clinical environment and provides support in patient care situations. Support includes but is not limited to assisting physicians and nursing personnel, including those skills listed under Essential Functions below, along with various other procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a medical provider. The MA assists in identifying patient needs or problems and communicating data to the provider or other members of the clinical team. The MA delivers quality customer service. Ensures policy and procedures are followed including infection control, privacy and confidentiality. Completes mandatory training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
□ Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality and care and concern with each and every internal and external customer. □ Represents the Company in a professional manner, following all Company policies and procedures. □ Uses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. □ Under direction and supervision of physician, administers medications, administers immunizations, EKGs, ear washes, and other patient services. Assists in simple office and minor surgical procedures. Assists with the education of the patient and/or family as directed by the physician. □ Exhibits working knowledge of basic Medical Assistant principles and practices. Practices standard infection control precautions. □ Performs venipucture under the direction of a physician or advance care practitioner. □ Greets patients in courteous and polite manner. Rooms patients; prepares patient(s) for examination. □ Contacts patients as needed to give testing results instructions from the physician and scheduling of necessary visits.
