Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Medical Assistant (MA) with strong phlebotomy skills to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care and administrative support across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as ICU, Geriatrics, and Emergency Medicine. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and administrative skills, including experience in phlebotomy , familiarity with EHR systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient service. Experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or trauma centers is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered care and medical excellence.
Duties:
Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs Assist with physical examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety Administer medications and injections following physician orders and safety protocols Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines when applicable Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Support physicians with ICD coding, medication reconciliation, and documentation for billing purposes Monitor patient physiology and respond appropriately to emergent situations in urgent care or emergency settings Perform phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection and processing Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance Maintain clinical supplies and ensure cleanliness of treatment areas in compliance with healthcare standards Support hospital staff in various departments such as Medical-Surgical units, PICU, or Geriatrics as needed Experience /
Requirements:
Must have Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program Must have phlebotomy skills and hands-on experience Prior experience in outpatient clinics, preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols Experience with EHR systems and familiarity with hospital or clinic workflows Background in specialized fields such as dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or Geriatrics is advantageous Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required This position is integral to providing high-quality patient care across diverse healthcare environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient service.
