In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your skills in medical procedures, patient interaction, and documentation will help us deliver exceptional outpatient and inpatient services across diverse medical specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and more. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical history, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including basic X-ray setup, medication administration, and wound care as needed. Support physicians during procedures in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or surgical environments such as ORs or PICUs. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, administering injections, ICD coding for diagnoses, and monitoring patients' physiological responses. Conduct routine assessments like vital signs measurement, anatomy and physiology evaluations, and patient education on treatment plans. Support hospital medicine units with inpatient care activities within Level I and Level II trauma centers or Geriatrics units. Candidate must speak English and Creole. Manage medical administrative duties including appointment scheduling, insurance documentation, ICD coding accuracy, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Proven experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings; familiarity with hospital medicine, emergency medicine or urgent care environments preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and proficiency in ICD coding for accurate documentation. Ability to perform clinical procedures such as X-ray imaging support or assisting in the operating room (OR) environment if applicable. Knowledge of inpatient care processes across various specialties including Geriatrics, Medical-surgical units, PICU or Level I Trauma Centers. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations; ability to support intake processes effectively.
