This role combines front-office administrative responsibilities with clinical support duties to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient office operations. The ideal candidate will have strong patient service skills, experience with phlebotomy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Responsibilities Greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures. Schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and coordinate follow-up visits. Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and manage incoming communications professionally. Obtain and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, and respiration. Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for laboratory testing. Label, process, and prepare specimens for transport according to laboratory protocols. Update and maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, medication administration, and patient education as directed. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies. Complete patient intake, medication reconciliation, and documentation using appropriate medical terminology. Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations when applicable. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, psychiatry, or outpatient clinic setting. Required phlebotomy experience, including venipuncture and specimen collection. Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy medical office. Preferred Qualifications Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent). Experience in both primary care and behavioral health/psychiatry settings. Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral processing. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
