This role involves performing allergy testing, preparing and administering allergen immunotherapy, and providing patient-centered education. The Allergy Technician will also support clinical operations and administrative tasks to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Perform allergy skin testing and record reactions accurately. Prepare customized allergen immunotherapy treatment based on protocols and patient-specific treatment plans. Administer subcutaneous immunotherapy injections safely, monitor patients for adverse reactions or anaphylaxis, and initiate emergency protocols as needed. Provide patient education regarding allergy triggers, immunotherapy adherence, epinephrine auto-injector use, and general allergy management. Patient Care & Service Greet and guide patients through allergy testing and treatment with empathy and professionalism. Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and reminders for testing and immunotherapy sessions. Answer patient questions about medications, insurance coverage, and post-injection care. Administrative & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely Electronic Health Records (EHR), including documentation of testing results, injection logs, and patient encounters. Apply correct coding for allergy-related services to support proper billing and compliance. Verify insurance eligibility, track deductible requirements, and assist patients with understanding coverage. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment, following infection control and OSHA standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or relevant medical certification preferred). Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), or comparable clinical experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, allergy and immunology principles, and anaphylaxis management. Proficiency with EHR systems, patient scheduling, and basic insurance verification. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient care and safety. Training Our team provides detailed, practical training covering allergy testing, immunotherapy procedures, patient care, and clinic workflows. New team members are guided through a structured onboarding process, supported by experienced mentors, and encouraged to keep learning as they develop in the position. The training will cover all of what we are expecting the candidate to accomplish.
