The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and medical office support, with experience spanning various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient settings. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient service while supporting physicians and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality care. This position offers an engaging environment where professionalism, attention to detail, and compassion are highly valued. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments across diverse medical specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort. Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform basic phlebotomy procedures with precision. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical history, and treatment plans. Support medical administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, and ICD coding for billing purposes. Administer medications and injections following established protocols while maintaining patient safety standards. Assist in radiology procedures such as X-ray imaging when necessary within the scope of practice. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control guidelines. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient settings like Level I trauma centers or PICU environments to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; additional certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred. Proven experience in outpatient clinics or hospital environments specializing in dermatology, emergency medicine, or internal medicine is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR/EHR management practices, and clinic management software tools. Prior experience with phlebotomy techniques and specimen collection is essential. Strong understanding of hospital procedures including Level II trauma center or Level I trauma center protocols is advantageous. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or emergency departments. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and clinical support tasks.
