This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations and outstanding patient experiences. Your expertise will support both outpatient and inpatient services, including specialized areas such as dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation to monitor patient health status Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including X-ray positioning and basic medication administration under supervision Support physicians during procedures in outpatient clinics, hospital units, or surgical settings like the operating room (OR) Perform basic life support (BLS) to respond swiftly in emergency situations and assist in emergency medicine scenarios at Level I and Level II trauma centers Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses to ensure precise medical documentation and billing processes Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection, processing, and handling of diagnostic tests relevant to specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, procedures performed, and clinical notes while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations Support medical administrative functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and managing patient flow in busy outpatient or inpatient environments Qualifications Valid certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program with current certification status Proven experience working in dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings preferred Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols Experience working within EHR systems with proficiency in documentation and data entry Familiarity with hospital experience including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments is highly desirable Ability to perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with X-ray procedures, and supporting inpatient care across various specialties like geriatrics or medical-surgical units Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including outpatient clinics or Geriatrics patients Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as OR experience or PICU support are advantageous Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced healthcare settings Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate care while advancing your career in a vibrant healthcare environment.
