Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and support across various clinical settings. In this vital role, you will assist healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth clinic operations and outstanding patient experiences. Your expertise in medical procedures, patient service, and medical documentation will contribute to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within diverse medical specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with physical assessments. Support physicians and healthcare providers during procedures, including medication administration and X-ray operations. Manage patient intake processes efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of symptoms, medical history, and insurance details. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality. Assist with clinical tasks such as ICD coding, anatomy and physiology support, and basic life support procedures. Conduct routine diagnostic tests like X-rays or other imaging as required within the clinic or hospital setting. Support inpatient and outpatient care activities across various departments including geriatrics, internal medicine, surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I/II trauma centers. Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to safety protocols for emergency medicine or trauma situations. Experience Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of dermatology, urgent care procedures, or hospital experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding, anatomy knowledge, and physiology principles is essential for accurate documentation and patient support. Hands-on experience with EHR systems, X-ray equipment operation, or medication administration enhances your ability to excel in this role. Experience working within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environment demonstrates adaptability in high-pressure situations. Previous involvement in medical-surgical units or geriatrics care adds valuable insight into diverse patient populations. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital medicine are a plus.
