Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support during emergencies within hospital or outpatient settings. Document clinical notes accurately using medical terminology and ICD coding to ensure precise recordkeeping for billing and legal purposes. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and assist with specimen collection for laboratory testing. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience during every visit. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in clinical environments such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency departments. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for documentation accuracy. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications in X-ray operation or medication administration are a plus. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable; familiarity with PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, or medical-surgical units is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or hospital environments.
