In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs with precision and professionalism Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support during emergencies Support physicians and nurses in inpatient units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics across various specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, and medical-surgical units Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately and ensure seamless information flow Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to support billing processes and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations Prepare examination rooms, assist with specimen collection, and ensure proper sterilization and equipment readiness for procedures in ORs or trauma centers Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital trauma centers (Level I & II), outpatient clinics, or specialty practices like dermatology or urgent care Demonstrated ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic physiology knowledge Familiarity with hospital environments including inpatient units like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics wards Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding practices, and emergency medicine protocols Experience working with EHR systems in fast-paced environments; familiarity with hospital experience or Level I trauma center operations is highly desirable Ability to handle intake assessments efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care in outpatient or inpatient settings This role is perfect for motivated Medical Assistants eager to leverage their broad skill set in a vibrant healthcare environment.
