Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced primary care environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and immunizations (as trained/authorized) Prepare exam rooms and maintain infection control standards Administer point-of-care testing (e.g., urine, glucose, strep, flu, COVID) Document patient information accurately in the EHR Provide patient education as directed by the provider Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology. Administer injections and immunizations as permitted under Florida law and provider delegation. Perform all Medical Assistant duties, including those not explicitly outlined above, as required for clinic operations. Administrative Duties Greet and check in patients; provide excellent customer service Schedule appointments and manage patient flow Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays/self-pay fees Answer phones, return messages, and manage referrals Support prescription refill requests and prior authorizations Maintain accurate patient charts and clinic documentation Assist with ordering medical and office supplies and maintaining accurate inventory records Perform all Medical Assistant duties, including those not explicitly outlined above, as required for clinic operations. Qualifications Medical Assistant certification or diploma required (or current student nearing completion) Previous experience in primary care is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply Familiarity with EMR systems preferred ( eClinicalWorks a strong plus ) Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Provides courteous, compassionate, and professional service to all patients Maintains a calm, respectful demeanor in a fast-paced clinical environment Maintains patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times (HIPAA-compliant) This position offers an engaging environment for healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality patient care while supporting clinical operations through administrative excellence.
