Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. Your expertise in clinical procedures, medical documentation, and patient interaction will contribute to a welcoming and effective healthcare environment. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits. Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and assisting with X-ray procedures when applicable. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Support patient service by answering questions, providing instructions on medication usage, and coordinating follow-up appointments. Handle medical administrative support tasks including scheduling, verifying insurance information, and processing referrals. Maintain compliance with safety protocols such as basic life support (BLS) standards and uphold confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Proven experience in outpatient settings such as clinics or urgent care centers with knowledge of medical terminology and physiology. Strong understanding of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient management; familiarity with ICD coding is a plus. Skilled in performing clinical procedures like phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and X-ray assistance. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations. Knowledge of hospital experience or inpatient settings including Level I or Level II trauma centers enhances your candidacy.
