Job Title:
Back Office Float Medical Assistant Job Description The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, focusing on both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, managing chronic diseases, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is also responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Responsibilities Support clinicians and care management teams in patient assessments and chronic disease management. Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Take and record vitals, with a preference for manual vitals. Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Assess emergencies and act accordingly. Float from one location to another as patient queues demand. Essential Skills Medical assisting experience or MA diploma, or Certified MA (CMA) or three years of MA experience. Phlebotomy experience. Active BLS certification. Active driver's license. Ability to take vitals. Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with TriMed EMR preferred. Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements. Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments. Independent, responsible, and organized. Work Environment The position is 100% onsite in various medical office settings, with locations including Aventura, Causeway, Ives Estates, Skylake, and Miami Beach, FL. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, and every other Saturday from 7:45am to 12:00pm. The work hours alternate between 42.5 hours in week one and 46.75 hours in week two. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of North Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $35000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
