Job Title:
Medical Assistant Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and other health professionals by performing clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Take and record patients' vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse). Prepare patients for examinations and assist the physician during exams. Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician. Perform basic laboratory tests and collect/prep specimens for lab analysis. Sterilize medical instruments and maintain examination rooms. Conduct EKGs, draw blood, and assist in minor surgical procedures (if certified).
Administrative Duties:
Greet and check-in patients, verify insurance information, and update medical records. Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar coordination. Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages. Manage billing, coding, and insurance claims processing (if required). Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Certification (CMA, RMA, or similar) is a plus. CPR/BLS certification preferred. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer skills. Strong communication and organizational skills.
