Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour Job description: We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Rheumatology team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to ensure excellent patient care for individuals living with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. Key Responsibilities Greet and room patients; obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints. Assist rheumatology providers with exams, procedures, and treatments. Administer injections, including biologics, as permitted by certification and state regulation. Prepare, maintain, and stock exam rooms and clinical supplies. Perform diagnostic tasks such as phlebotomy, point‑of‑care testing, and specimen handling. Manage patient scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and electronic medical record (EMR) documentation. Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow‑up requirements. Support coordination of injections, lab monitoring, and specialty pharmacy communications. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Qualifications Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program (AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent). Current BLS/CPR certification. Experience in rheumatology, immunology, internal medicine, or a similar specialty. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with NextGen or similar platforms a plus. Compassionate, patient‑focused approach and ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
