00 per hour (based on experience) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy physician's office in the Palm Harbor area. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, administrative-heavy environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. This position focuses heavily on care coordination and front-office responsibilities, including prior authorizations, medication refills, scheduling, and managing a high-volume phone system. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and able to multitask efficiently while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach. Key Responsibilities Review upcoming schedules and provide timely appointment reminders Verify and validate patient insurance coverage prior to visits Perform patient check-in, including collecting copays and balances Ensure all patient forms, consents, and documentation are complete and up to date Maintain efficient patient flow and communicate delays professionally Manage a high-volume, multiline phone system with prompt and courteous service Process prior authorizations for procedures and services Handle medication refill requests according to provider protocols Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care Provide administrative and clinical support to providers as needed Multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
QualificationsRequired:
Current BLS Certification Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working in an administrative-heavy role with frequent phone interaction
Preferred:
