Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Summary:
Humanitary Medical Center is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by ensuring smooth and efficient clinical operations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies. Manage patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. Schedule patient appointments, follow up on referrals, and coordinate communication between patients and medical staff. Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications as directed, and maintain clinical equipment and supplies. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 2+ years of experience within the healthcare medical center industry. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred. Basic life support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems. preferably MD Vita. Previous experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or community health environment. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to better serve the local community.
Essential Characteristics:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse patient populations. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
