Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive support in clinical and administrative settings across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient service, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting medical professionals in delivering high-quality care. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise directly impacts patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Duties Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and preparing patients for procedures. Support diagnostic processes by operating equipment such as X-ray machines and assisting with basic laboratory tests. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) systems by documenting patient interactions, procedures, ICD coding, and treatment plans. Support inpatient and outpatient care settings across diverse specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, medical-surgical units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), and Level I/II trauma centers. Manage medical administrative support duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, processing referrals, and handling patient inquiries professionally. Assist with medication administration following proper protocols and ensure compliance with safety standards. Support emergency medicine teams by preparing exam rooms quickly and efficiently during urgent situations. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain a sterile environment during procedures. Experience Prior experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable. Knowledge of dermatology practices or specialized areas such as Geriatrics or PICU is advantageous. Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation. Experience operating diagnostic equipment like X-ray machines or supporting surgical procedures in the OR. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support protocols. Previous roles involving inpatient or outpatient care across diverse medical settings are preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or hospital units.
