Job Description

Summary:
Seeking a dynamic and caring CMA or RMA to join our team to provide exceptional care to patients in a women's clinic setting.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate patient support and care, based on practice guidelines and standards of care, while following federal/state laws and regulations. Execute prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administer via injection prescribed medications, document treatment progress and patient response within scope of job description. Consistently assures exceptional patient experience thru warm and welcoming greetings, communications and actions. Regular and predictable attendance. Follows and upholds the practice's code of ethics and professional standards. Provide patient with instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow-up instructions at the direction of the provider. Ensures patient consent for care is obtained and ensure patient confidentiality. As assigned participates in training/precepting. Collects and documents pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, medical history, family history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit. Update patient information in the electronic patient files and maintains accurate records. Record vital signs and collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Set up and replenish the stock in examination and procedure rooms. Clean and prepare patient exam rooms. Prepare and perform basic laboratory tests. Completes Pre load of appointments. Processes prescription orders as directed by the provider. Supports and assists providers while performing office procedures. Results lab orders as directed by provider. Disposes of contaminated supplies per federal regulations. Authorize drug refills as directed by the provider. Sterilize medical equipment and sanitize designated areas. Oversee EMR desktop flags and alerts. Follows up on all provider and leadership directions. Read and implement provider's orders within scope of job description. Perform minor diagnostic tests and administer treatment under the direct supervision of the provider. Ensure a safe, harassment, and discrimination-free work environment by immediately reporting all issues related to harassment, safety, discrimination, or other improper conduct to the Human Resources Manager and or the CEO. Perform other duties as directed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Skilled in time management, problem-solving, multitasking, prioritizing, customer service, and medical care coordination. Knowledge of nursing processes, health care systems, and community resources. Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies. Familiarity with state law on healthcare regulations, clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to the release of health care information. Exceptional interpersonal skills to assist, guide, and reassure patients. Ability to work under supervision and monitor, report, and record a patient's condition. Able to handle sensitive and confidential information while conducting themselves with a professional demeanor. In-depth knowledge of best practices in healthcare and sterilization protocols. Ability to respond flexibly to changing workload or patient assignments.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Required to have vision abilities of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to talk and hear. Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, balance, and climb. Requires occasional bending, reaching, and stretching. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stoop and kneel. Must be capable of working under pressure and organizing and planning efficiently. Able to operate standard office machines, including a computer.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Certification/registration as a medical assistant required Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience BLS/CPR certified required
