Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, and surgical units. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate patient documentation, and exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately. Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient consultations and procedures. Perform basic clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and conducting X-ray procedures when trained. Support hospital medicine units, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and medical-surgical wards. Manage medical administrative duties like ICD coding, documentation of patient encounters, and scheduling appointments. Monitor patient physiology during visits, ensuring comfort and safety while supporting emergency medicine protocols when necessary. Maintain compliance with infection control standards and assist with laboratory specimen collection and processing. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to diverse clinical settings. Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma centers; familiarity with inpatient care is highly valued. Proficiency in EHR systems for accurate documentation and data management. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS). Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and outpatient clients. Knowledge of ICD coding practices for billing and record keeping; experience with medical-surgical units or internal medicine is preferred. Familiarity with urgent care procedures and clinic experience across specialties such as dermatology or emergency medicine enhances your candidacy.
