- Full-time We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly skilled Pathologists' Assistant (PA) to join our laboratory team.
Key Responsibilities Surgical Pathology:
Perform macroscopic description, dissection, and triaging of a wide variety of surgical specimens ranging from simple biopsies to complex tumor resections.Autopsy Service:
Assist pathologically with postmortem examinations, including external examination, evisceration, organ dissection, and dictation of findings.Specimen Preparation:
Select and submit appropriate tissue sections for microscopic examination, frozen sections, and special studies (e.g., flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics).Quality Assurance:
Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, safety standards, and quality control procedures. Ensure proper maintenance of grossing stations, equipment, and instruments.Collaboration:
Act as a technical resource for laboratory staff and coordinate with pathologists to ensure clear, precise diagnostic documentation.Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Graduation from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program is highly preferred.Certification:
Active certification as a Pathologists' Assistant by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) , or immediate eligibility to take and pass the exam within 6 months of hire.Skills:
Exceptional anatomical knowledge, precise dissecting technique, strong dictation/communication skills, and proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS).Pay:
$90,000.00- $140,000.
