Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Agent with medical knowledge to join our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within our clinic, hospital, or trauma center environment. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients and visitors with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate data entry into our systems. Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient flow. Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries or directing them to the appropriate department. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Support medical administrative functions, including filing, data entry, and managing medical records. Assist in medication administration processes as required by healthcare protocols. Collaborate with clinical staff in various departments such as Internal Medicine, Medical-Surgical, PICU, OR, and Level I Trauma Center to ensure seamless patient care. Provide support during emergencies or high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus. Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role within a medical setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology related to Internal Medicine, Medical-Surgical, PICU, OR, and Trauma Centers is advantageous. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for effective medication administration and record management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in using healthcare systems and software for scheduling and record keeping. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
