Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in various medical settings, including dermatology, urgent care, and hospital medicine. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service, and the ability to work efficiently in both outpatient and inpatient environments. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories. Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure accurate documentation of patient information. Support clinical operations by preparing patients for examinations and assisting during procedures. Conduct basic life support (BLS) as needed and maintain current certification. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care in various settings such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, and geriatrics. Ensure compliance with ICD coding standards for accurate billing and insurance processing. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to various specialties including dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, and surgical procedures. Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is preferred. Familiarity with outpatient clinic operations as well as inpatient care dynamics. Previous roles in hospital medicine or emergency medicine settings are advantageous. Experience with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or operating room (OR) environments is a plus. Proficiency in handling X-ray procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
