Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. This short‑term contract role offers a consistent weekday schedule with no weekends or holiday requirements. In this position, the Pathology Assistant will support pathology services by assisting with specimen handling, preparation, and documentation in accordance with hospital and laboratory standards. This opportunity is well suited for Pathology Assistants seeking a focused, short‑term assignment in a hospital‑based lab environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of recent Pathology Assistant experience ASCP Pathologists' Assistant (PA) certification required Strong knowledge of pathology workflows and laboratory protocols High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a lab team
Responsibilities:
Assist pathologists with specimen preparation and processing Perform gross examination and documentation of surgical specimens Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and tracking of specimens Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards Document findings accurately and in a timely manner Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain efficient workflow
