Competitive, based on experience About Quality Care Pediatrics Quality Care Pediatrics is a growing pediatric healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and families throughout Metro Atlanta. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who is passionate about pediatric care and committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience. Position Summary The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting providers with both clinical and administrative duties while ensuring efficient patient flow, excellent customer service, and compliance with all clinical protocols. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with children, and demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills. Clinical Responsibilities Document chief complaints and complete patient triage within five minutes of patient check-in. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and minor procedures. Measure and document vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. Administer pediatric vaccines according to the Georgia Immunization Schedule and provider orders. Provide Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) and patient education in accordance with Vaccines for Children (VFC) guidelines. Administer medications and injections under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Collect laboratory specimens, including blood and urine samples, as ordered. Accurately document patient visit information and requests in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Prepare and stock examination rooms and ensure rooms are cleaned according to sanitation protocols. Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards. Educate patients and families on hygiene, wellness, and infection control measures. Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies. Administrative Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments according to Quality Care Pediatrics protocols. Process referrals and authorizations according to insurance requirements. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes. Verify insurance eligibility and demographic information. Assist with billing and coding processes as needed. Answer patient calls and respond to messages within 24 hours, or the same business day when urgent. Conduct appointment reminder calls and patient outreach activities. Perform other administrative and clinical duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant certification or relevant experience in a medical office. Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR). Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric environment. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Preferred Pediatric experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Phlebotomy experience. Experience administering vaccines. Knowledge of Georgia Vaccines for Children (VFC) program requirements.
