Clinical Assistant
DEPARTMENT
Clinic SUMMARY:
Provide excellent patient care through clinical duties and administrative tasks while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist dentist during procedures. Assist with placement and removal of appliances as directed by doctor. Record treatment information in patient records. Assist dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies. Order and monitor supplies and equipment inventory. Take and expose dental diagnostic x-rays; prepare scans for lab. Maintain accurate and current manuals for documentation of equipment function. Assist with training of new team members. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma required Orthodontic Assistant Certificate and 5-10 years' experience as a chairside assistant.
Computer skills preferred:
Dolphin, OrthoFi, Microsoft Dynamics
CRM PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently/Continually required to sit, stand, or walk. Frequently/Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity Frequently/Continually required to talk or hear Occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
