High Volume Internal Medicine Office Hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:20-5:30 or later
Gainesville, GA Job Type:
Full time Looking for a very positive and energetic medical assistant for a high-volume internal medicine office. This position requires direct patient communication, critical thinking and problem solving. The Medical Assistant works closely with the Providers in all aspects of the medical practice. They provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. Medical Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of clinical functions such as preparing specimens, assisting during medical procedures, and patient education. They are also accountable for a wide range of administrative tasks.
Essential Functions:
Assists with preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients. Cleans, straightens room, and changes table paper after each patient is seen. Keeps rooms stocked with supplies daily. Assist with medical referrals as needed. Fill syringes as needed. Injections Obtains prior authorizations for prescriptions when needed. Schedules appointments Satisfies refill prescription requests. Makes outbound phone calls and answers patient questions. Performs Clinical Chart Prep for future appointments. Discusses patient results for blood work, tests,etc.
MUST BE DEPENDABLE
Must always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with patients, providers, management, and co-workers. Complies with all HIPAA regulations and guidance. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must work well independently and be self-motivated but willing to ask for assistance when needed and take assistance from team members, mangers, providers, etc. Must be flexible and able to change, to adapt to new policies and procedures. Must have the ability to use applicable technology and systems. Must be able to communicate effectively with providers, patients, and co-workers. Must possess critical thinking skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced team environment.
