Job Description

Assist in the rooming of cancer and hematology care patients. Perform initial vitals assessment, as well as updates to medical history. Ensures orders given at the end of appointments are completed timely and accurately communicated to patient. Keeps provider schedule filled and maximizes efficiency of both patient and clinic time. Responsible to ensure plan of care is accurately detailed in the medical record, and transparent and readily communicated to all team members. Maintains communication between patient, provider, and outside referral offices. Fulfills any other needs of the provider relevant to patient care coordination. Proficient use of computer systems required, as are exceptional customer service and multi-tasking skills. Due to the nature of the care provided, superior intrapersonal communication skills are required, as is the ability to function as a member of a team and thoroughly document in the medical record. Candidates with past experience in phlebotomy and/or oncology care strongly preferred.
