Job Description
Medical Assistant Responsibilities As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/hospital. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. Responsibilities Proficient in rooming patients, taking comprehensive histories and vital signs, and performing patient workups in preparation for provider evaluation Performs thorough cleaning and sanitizing of patient areas, medical equipment, and exam rooms in accordance with infection control protocols Skilled in documenting clinical information and patient encounters accurately and efficiently within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Foundational knowledge of medications and specialty-specific procedures, with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning and professional growth Prepare and clean treatment rooms, patient areas and medical instruments Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment Physically able to stand or walk for extended periods and lift, push, or move items or equipment up to 25-50 pounds as needed Flexibility to travel to satellite or remote clinic locations approximately 25% of the time, as required by practice needs Works collaboratively with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure optimal patient care and clinic operations Maintains strict patient confidentiality and follows all legal and ethical guidelines. Maintains strict adherence to HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and clinical safety standards Strong typing skills with the ability to enter data quickly and accurately, ensuring timely and precise record keeping Solid knowledge of computers and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications and medical equipment
