Job Description

ENT and Allergy Associates of South Georgia, a leading otolaryngology practice and an affiliate of SENTA Partners , has been serving the Valdosta community since 1963. Position Summary:
Medical Assistant/audiology technician performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician/audiologist. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, performing hearing tests and working hands on with hearing aids. Key Responsibilities Interacts professionally with patients. Accompanies and settles patients in the exam room in advance of the physician's visit. Perform basic hearing screenings as permitted by state regulations and clinic policies. Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Maintain inventory of hearing aids, batteries, and supplies. Provide clear verbal instructions to patients throughout testing to promote understanding and testing accuracy. Recognize when hearing test results are inconsistent or unreliable and utilize alternative testing methods or troubleshooting techniques to obtain accurate results. Updates the providers which patient should be seen next to minimize wait time when multiple rooms are filled up. Patient timeliness and appointment time must be taken into consideration to avoid upset patient(s). Retrieves, directs and responds accordingly to the messages from the nurses/audiology line. Ensures compliance with applicable government laws, rules, regulations, AAOA and Company policies and procedures. Maintains safe environment for patient, co-workers and self, per policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
