Job Description
Actively Screening for Medical Assistant to join fast-growing primary care clinic in Woodstock, GA! Job Description As a Medical Assistant, you will perform both administrative and clinical duties to ensure the highest level of care for patients. You will work closely with healthcare providers to create a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and assist in explaining medical instructions. Responsibilities Escort patients to exam rooms and notify the provider when the patient is ready. Ensure all lab and diagnostic test results are in the chart prior to appointments. Maintain cleanliness and stock of exam rooms. Record initial patient contact details including the reason for visit and symptoms, and obtain vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature. Verify current medications, contact information, and medical allergies. Prepare patients for examinations and assist the provider during examinations. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Instruct patients about medications and special diets. Transmit prescription refills as directed by the provider. Perform phlebotomy and wound care. Inventory and order medical, lab, and office supplies. Follow-up on diagnostics, medications, and blood results. Use computer applications to update and file patient medical records. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in medical assisting within a clinical setting. Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of medical terminology, geriatrics, internal medicine, and electronic health records. Proficiency in patient care and phlebotomy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced environment. Ability to follow verbal, written, or listed directions. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification or higher (EMT, RN, LPN) preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Knowledge of HEDIS is a plus. English proficiency required, secondary language is a plus. Work Environment The position is located within a primary care clinic at Northside Towne Center, supporting two providers at a time. You will be part of a positive and collaborative team of up to four Medical Assistants. The work schedule includes four days with an assigned provider and one day dedicated to administrative duties such as patient portal requests, refill requests, notifying patients on lab results, and chart prepping. The clinic has a phlebotomist from LabCorp for blood draws. The office culture is supportive, with opportunities for career advancement into roles such as Clinical Lead or Office Manager. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
