Job Description
Description We are looking for a Medical Assistant and Receptionist to be part of our team which is dedicated to providing caring, compassionate, top-notch Pediatric care in an intimate setting to the children in rural Oahu. As the first person of contact, we a seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and compassionate person with knowledge and experience with medical terminology. Job Responsibilities 1. Stocks exam rooms with necessary supplies and instruments. 2. Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to and after each Patient's appointment utilizing knowledge of sterile technique and infection control procedures. 3. Assist in maintaining an overall clean office space. 4. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining patient charts, scheduling appointments, submitting referrals, faxing, scanning, and taking payments. 5. Triage and document telephone calls to answer patient questions, schedule appointments or to route to Provider for follow-up. 6. Maintain office supplies, clinical supplies, and office equipment. Report needed supplies to Provider. 7. Attends required Staff meetings (typically once-a-month, during lunch). 8. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. 9. Follows the Office guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI). 10. Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner. 11. Maintains established Office policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. 12. Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Office Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of the Office's cultural diversity objectives. 13. Performs other related work as required. Requirements High school graduate or GED. Graduate from an accredited program for Medical Assistants. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Current CPR certification. Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding Familiarity with Epic EHR and/or Akamai billing/scheduling software a plus
