Medical Assistant Advanced Psychiatric Therapeutics Honolulu, HI Job Details Part-time | Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Free parking Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Vital signs Word processing BLS Certification Groundskeeping High school diploma or GED Patient care Patient interaction Medical assisting Full Job Description We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinic for around 20-40 hours per week to assist patients with the coordination, application, and oversight of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Esketamine treatments for depression. Training for these treatments would be provided, and a physician is always overseeing the care and immediately available. Hence no prior experience with these particular treatments is required. We would like our new team member to available Monday through Friday, but there is some room for flexibility that we could offer to the right applicant (of note, we have particular need for the candidate on Friday and at least some of the afternoons Monday through Thursday). The office is on Bishop Street in Honolulu. Once an applicant is selected (a process that usually takes a week or two), they could start work either immediately, or in the near future if they require a few weeks of notice.
Responsibilities would include:
  • Administering a TMS treatment using the parameters established by a physician, and documenting.
  • Overseeing Esketamine treatments, including obtaining vitals and assessing for aberrant reactions over the course of the treatment.
  • Organizing and tracking patients from first contact through their entire treatment course.
  • Applying patients to the REMS program (a form you can learn on the job).
  • Applying for Prior Authorizations from insurance companies (with assistance from the physician as needed) and tracking these authorizations.
  • Tracking needed supplies for treatment and ordering as needed.
  • Cleaning supplies and room as needed.
  • Assisting with administrative work as time allows (fielding more general calls, assisting with new patients, etc).
  • Light office maintenance (cleaning furniture, caring for plants, etc--there is a cleaning crew that comes by daily, but occasional additional work will be required).
  • Skills placing an IV would be helpful by not necessary (and could be taught).
Skills:
  • Pleasant personality for patient interactions
  • Comfortable on the phone
  • Comfortable with office software on the computer (able to use word processing, spreadsheet, and scheduling programs)
  • Willing to learn how to fill out various medical paperwork
  • Familiar with using document scanners/fax/shredders and other common office devices
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable and on time every day
  • Respectful attitude towards the confidential information of our patients
  • Enjoys helping people feel better
  • Deals well with people in crisis situations, in a calm and reassuring manner This is a psychiatry clinic that helps people with a variety of mental issues, particularly depression and substance abuse, so you will meet many people dealing with hard times who could use a little kindness.
Candidates will be drug tested at the time of the first interview, and must consent to a background check before being hired. Pay is $22 - 25 per hour with benefits as well after a short waiting period. To be considered for this position, please do include your resume.
