Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical administrative support and patient service, with a solid understanding of dermatology practices and procedures. This role involves assisting dermatologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities Assist dermatologists during examinations, procedures, and surgeries ensuring patient comfort and safety. Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient information. Administer medications as directed by the physician and provide basic life support when necessary. Educate patients on skin care regimens, treatment options, and post-procedure care. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care. Ensure compliance with medical terminology, ICD coding, and documentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment, including preparation for procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling inquiries. Qualifications Previous experience in dermatology or related fields in private practice preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ICD coding is essential. Experience in outpatient settings; clinic experience is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic life support and administer medications safely. Strong patient service skills with an emphasis on empathy and communication. Previous exposure to various medical specialties such as pediatrics, geriatrics, internal medicine, or medical-surgical is advantageous.
