• Heart Care Center is hiring a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with daily activities, including preparing patients for examinations, performing phlebotomy, administering injections, assisting providers with entering medication, laboratory, and radiology orders, scheduling diagnostic tests, and managing phone calls.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Documents labs, procedures, and appointments, completes tracking forms, and follows up on missed appointments and procedures. Provides patient and family education per provider direction, performs telephone triage, returns patient calls within 90 minutes, and accurately records and reports patient conditions 98% of the time. Maintains clean and organized work areas, handles prescription renewals accurately, and follows department protocols 99% of the time. Prepares exam rooms and equipment, reviews medical records, checks vitals, reconciles medications, and assists providers with obtaining tests, records, and lab work 95% of the time. Performs phlebotomy, accurately handles specimens, completes requisitions, documents quality control activities, and ensures order accuracy at least 98% of the time.

Salary:

Pay starts at $20.39 and may increase based on work history/experience. $2,500 sign-on bonus available!

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. Successful completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Program must include an externship/preceptorship in a clinical setting OR must have 6 months of current experience working in the capacity of a medical assistant. OR Currently enrolled in a nursing program with half of nursing courses completed. Transcripts must be provided indicating classes have been passed. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
