Medical Assistant heartland wound care Des Moines, IA Job Details Full-time $24 - $26 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Paid training Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications CPR Certification Teamwork Vital signs BLS Certification Driver's License Attention to detail Driving Certified Medical Assistant Mobile devices Full Job Description Heartland Care Advanced Wound Solutions Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Mobile Wound Care Support Heartland Care Advanced Wound Solutions is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work directly alongside our provider team in a fast-paced mobile wound care environment throughout the Des Moines and surrounding Iowa areas. This role is ideal for a highly organized and adaptable individual who enjoys hands-on patient interaction, fast-paced workflows, and supporting both clinical and operational responsibilities throughout the workday. The CMA will travel directly alongside the provider between patient visits and assist with procedural setup, patient support, clinical workflow coordination, communication management, and real-time operational support throughout home, assisted living, skilled nursing, and long-term care settings.
Primary Responsibilities:
Travel directly alongside provider between patient visits throughout the workday Assist with patient positioning, limb support, procedural setup, and dressing change assistance during wound care visits and procedures. Assist with maintaining clean procedural workflow and supply organization during patient visits Support provider workflow by assisting with operational coordination and communication tasks throughout the day Answer and manage incoming calls/messages while provider is engaged in patient care and procedures. Assist with clinical intake functions including vitals, patient updates, and medication review support Support real-time documentation workflows and operational coordination activities Photograph wounds and upload images into the EHR in real time as delegated Coordinate communication with facilities, pharmacies, caregivers, and outside providers as directed Assist with administrative workflows including faxing, documentation support, and patient information entry Perform additional delegated clinical and administrative responsibilities within CMA scope of practice
Position Requirements:
Current CMA certification required Minimum 1 year healthcare experience preferred Current CPR/BLS certification required Current TB testing and immunization records Valid driver's license and care insurance Must reside in or near the Des Moines, Iowa area Must be comfortable traveling daily alongside provider throughout mobile patient routes Strong organizational and multitasking skills Comfortable with technology, tablets/iPads, and mobile healthcare workflows Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in fast-paced healthcare environments Strong communication and teamwork skills
Additional Information:
This is a mobile healthcare role involving daily travel to patient homes and healthcare facilities Daily travel between patient sites will occur alongside the provider as part of the mobile care workflow Wound care experience is welcomed but not required Training will be provided for company-specific workflows and wound care support responsibilities
Benefits/Compensation:
Compensation:
$24-$26/hour depending on experience and qualifications Full-time position Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, though occasional flexibility may be required based upon patient scheduling and operational needs Competitive compensation dependent upon experience and qualifications Healthcare reimbursement options available, including medical, dental, and vision reimbursement support Paid training provided Opportunity to work in a rapidly growing specialty healthcare environment with significant hands-on clinical experience
