In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support within a fast-paced and versatile family practice setting. Duties Assist with patient intake processes by collecting medical histories, responding to patient inquiries, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Prepare exam rooms and patients for examinations and procedures and ensuring comfort Perform clinical tasks including medication administration, wound dressing, obtaining venipuncture blood samples, EKGs, rapid bedside tests, and basic life support (BLS) procedures in accordance with safety protocols. Complete and submit prior authorizations for medications Check PMP prior to visits as indicated Support documentation of ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for billing and record-keeping purposes; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and maintain cleanliness in clinical areas to uphold infection control standards. Willingness to cross train for basic reception duties to cover for employees that are sick, on vacation, or need help during surges. Collaborate seamlessly with providers and other office staff. Experience Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital or outpatient settings; experience in family practice or internal medicine is preferred. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions such as appointment scheduling and patient follow-up. Experience with eClinicalWorks is highly valued. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols. Demonstrated ability to perform vital signs collection accurately and assist with procedures such laceration repair, lesion removal, toenail removal is a plus. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required Strong communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional patient service in a healthcare environment.
