Job Title:
Medical Assistant Job Description Join a dedicated team as a Medical Assistant in a small, privately-owned orthopedic clinic. Your primary role will involve scheduling patients, preparing rooms, and assisting with patient visits alongside one provider and another Medical Assistant. You will be responsible for taking vital signs, collecting medical history, and entering data into the EMR system, Allscripts. This role requires flexibility to occasionally float to another location if needed. Responsibilities Schedule patients for office/clinic visits. Prepare rooms with required materials for visits. Assist with rooming patients. Collaborate with one provider and another Medical Assistant. Take vitals, weight, height, blood pressure, and medical history. Work with patients' families/caregivers to collect information. Enter all data into the EMR system, Allscripts. Schedule follow-up appointments as needed. Handle workers' compensation cases. Be flexible to occasionally float to another location if short-staffed. Essential Skills Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records, especially Allscripts. Medical Assisting certification or diploma preferred. Bilingual in Spanish, Russian, or Polish. Experience in patient triage and immediate care. Additional Skills & Qualifications Entry-level Medical Assistant right out of schooling/certification. Consideration for PCT or EMT candidates. Strong computer and communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to debrief medical professionals. Work Environment Work in a small, privately-owned orthopedic clinic specializing in hand to shoulder care. The clinic is known for treating patients such as construction workers and landscapers. Employees are cross-trained in various departments. The team includes 3 doctors, 8 Medical Assistants, and 3 X-ray techs. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-4/5pm, with flexibility required for late appointments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington Heights, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
