Medical Laboratory About the Role We are seeking an experienced Pathologists' Assistant for a day shift assignment in Carbondale, Illinois. This role will support pathology operations by assisting with gross descriptions, dissection of surgical tissues, specimen submission, and clinical documentation. Responsibilities Assist with gross description and dissection of surgical tissue specimens Submit specimens for histological and other laboratory testing Summarize patient medical history as needed for pathology review Perform procedures within the specialty under supervising physician direction Communicate effectively with physicians, laboratory staff, and hospital teams Maintain quality, accuracy, and compliance in pathology documentation Follow laboratory safety standards and facility procedures Requirements Master's degree in Health Science or Pathology required ASCP certification required Minimum 2 years of Pathology Assistant experience EPIC experience preferred Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work Monday Friday day shift with no call requirement Step into a focused pathology assignment where your precision, technical skill, and laboratory expertise will directly support high-quality diagnostic care.
