Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Job Summary:
IAMACF (Indian American Medical Association Charitable Foundation) - Free Health Clinic is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medical Assistant with phlebotomy skills to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should be certified as a Medical Assistant and experienced in performing venipuncture and specimen collection while providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature and EKGs. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, follow safety protocols, and ensuring their comfort Support clinical procedures and conduct initial assessments Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately to document patient information. Manage medical administrative support tasks like scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and maintaining patient records Assist with specialized areas such as OBGYN, Dermatology, and Physical Therapy clinics. Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection. Prepare and process laboratory specimen. Assist in the smooth functioning of the referral system.
Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA) credential from an accredited program Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Phlebotomy certification or documented training/experience in blood collection. Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documenting patient encounters accurately Ability to perform vital signs measurement and patient intake efficiently in both inpatient and outpatient settings Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations Current CPR/BLS certification prefered.
