Schedule:

Part-Time; Schedule varies based on caseload between Rogers Park (6303 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60660) and Bucktown (2409 N Clybourn Ave, Chicago, IL 60614); Minimum 2 days per week About the Role As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and improving health outcomes in our community. Working closely with our Family Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatric Nurse Specialists (PMHNP), and a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will assist in preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education—all to support whole-person wellness. Key Responsibilities Ability to be on-site and travel between clinic locations as needed Record and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints Assist the Nurse Practitioner during exams and procedures Prepare and administer medications as directed Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens; perform basic lab tests Educate patients on medications, diet, and follow-up care Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and ensure equipment is operational Monitor supply inventory and reorder as needed Support administrative tasks, including billing, coding, and insurance claims Answer phones, direct inquiries, and relay provider instructions to patients Communicate test results and follow-up information as delegated What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) required Ability to be on-site at 3 clinic locations as needed (Gage Park, Bucktown, Rogers Park) - Reliable transportation is a must Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) Familiarity with basic billing and coding Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical setting Why Join Vivia Health?
