Medical Records Assistant MADO Healthcare Douglas Park - 2.4 Chicago, IL Job Details Full-time $17 - $19 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Writing skills In-person customer service Direct client contact HIPAA English High school diploma or GED Healthcare privacy protection Health information regulatory compliance Patient interaction Full Job Description The Medical Records Assistant/Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating physician visits and appointments for clients, arranging transportation for these appointments as needed and escorting clients to these appointments.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Free of criminal background that includes a disqualifying offense as defined by the Department of Public Health Understanding of HIPPA Proficient in reading and writing
English Skills:
Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with doctors, clients, families, supervisors and visitors of the facility Strong organizational skills Customer service skills
Essential Duties:
Copy client medical records when requested by state agencies, subpoenas & department managers. Keep records of these requests. In accordance with HIPPA and with direction from the Medical Records Coordinator, copy client medical records when requested by outside agencies, attorney's, and department managers. Keep records of these requests. Make transportation arrangements for client medical appointments out-of-office (OOF) Keep track of all client medical appointments, including follow-ups Schedule appointments as needed (psychiatrists, medical doctors, dentist, hygienist, eye doctors, Seroquel exams, mammograms, pap smears, etc.) Create a typed schedule of appointments weekly for interdisciplinary team (IDT), including appointments requiring escorts Assign escorts for clients' medical appointments, as needed, at least 3 days prior to appointment date Prompt clients to attend their appointment with their physicians in the facility
Work Environment Lifting Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.
