Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant who is fluent in English and Spanish, has basic computer skills, and a valid certification to join our Family Medicine practice in Gurnee, Illinois. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about healthcare, meticulous, and able to work well in a team environment. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, administering medications, maintaining patient records, and providing administrative support. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work evenings and 2 Saturday mornings per month. We offer competitive hourly pay, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401K, profit sharing, uniform allowance, and in-house training. Essential Functions:
Provide patient care: You will assist with patient care, including taking vitals, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories using an EMR. You will also perform EKG's, vaccinations, and various other tests related to Medical Assistant duties. This requires excellent patient communication and care skills.
Administer medication:
You will prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician, following all healthcare protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety.
Maintain patient records:
You will maintain accurate and complete patient records, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and complies with regulations. Schedule appointments and respond to inquiries: You will respond to patient inquiries and schedule appointments as needed. This requires excellent communication and organization skills. Keep exam rooms clean and organized: You will keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and organized throughout the day, ensuring that all equipment is clean and functioning properly.
Provide administrative support:
You will provide administrative support to the healthcare team as needed, including answering phones, filing paperwork, and managing other administrative tasks.
Follow healthcare protocols and procedures:
You will follow all healthcare protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations.
Work closely with healthcare professionals:
You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Multitask and prioritize:
You will multitask and prioritize tasks in a challenging environment to ensure high-quality patient care. This requires excellent time management and organization skills.
Work conditions:
Exposure to patients with various medical conditions, including infectious diseases Standing or sitting for extended periods of time Regular use of hands to manipulate medical equipment and tools Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary Work in a well-lit, climate-controlled medical office or clinic environment Use of electronic health record systems and other computer-based tools Collaboration with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other support staff Participation in training and continuing education programs to maintain current knowledge and skills
