Dermatology Medical Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the dermatologist in providing exceptional patient care within a clinical setting. This position requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, dermatological procedures, cosmetic procedures and the ability to assist with various tasks. Duties Assist dermatologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare patients for consultations and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients on skincare routines, treatment options, and post-procedure care. Manage the flow of patients within the clinic, ensuring timely appointments and follow-ups. Operate medical equipment as needed, while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on dermatological practices and advancements. Requirements Previous experience in dermatology is required Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dermatology and general healthcare practices. Familiarity with systems used for patient management and electronic health records (EHR). Ability to accurately scribe and assist in a variety of procedures and treatment options. Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and support. A proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork within a fast-paced environment. Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
